Of all the cases of child neglect, no incident is more egregious than the 1990 case of eight-year-old Kevin McCallister in the film Home Alone. Bullied by siblings and forgotten by his jet-setting parents on Christmas Eve, Kevin (played by an adorable Macaulay Culkin) is accidentally left on his own over the holidays. When two violent but bumbling ex-cons (broadly played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) set about breaking into the family home where Kevin is alone, it's up to him to defend his family's property.
