Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Blake Edwards’s classic love storyBreakfast at Tiffany’s stars Audrey Hepburn at what some consider her loveliest. She’s Holly Golightly, a modern if somewhat shallow woman on the hunt for a rich husband. Holly innocently unleashes her charm on a new neighbor, Paul Varjak (played by George Peppard), a fledgling writer who’s being supported by an older woman. As Holly and Paul go from platonic friends to lovers, the move endangers the careful balance of their lives. Based on the novella by Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany’s features Oscar-winning music by Henry Mancini, including “Moon River.” 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-639-7515 or visit www.mfah.org/films. $6 to $7.
Fri., Jan. 14, 7 p.m., 2011
