The evening-length program will also include Pas de Dans by iconic Swedish choreographer, dancer and stage director Mats Ek. Walsh has admired Eks work for more than a decade, and Dominic Walsh Dance Theater is the first company in the U.S. to obtain the right to perform one of his pieces. His work has an amazing sense of style and interesting movement vocabulary, says Walsh.
The program is rounded out by a revival of Walshs 2009 The Afternoon of a Faun, DWDTs take on the original 1912 work by Vaslav Nijinsky. 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Hobby Center, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-315-2525 or visit www.dwdt.org. $25 to $82.
