Second Course: Winter Mixed Repertory

For Dominic Walsh, two is often better than one. “When you find like-minded people working together, what you can create is more interesting than what you can do alone,” he says. That’s evident in Second Course: Winter Mixed Repertory, which includes Walsh’s Victor Frankenstein, a piece he created in collaboration with poet Addie Tsai. The work is a one-act psychological narrative incorporating text projected onscreen that highlights the events leading up to Mary Shelley’s writing of Frankenstein.

The evening-length program will also include Pas de Dans by iconic Swedish choreographer, dancer and stage director Mats Ek. Walsh has admired Ek’s work for more than a decade, and Dominic Walsh Dance Theater is the first company in the U.S. to obtain the right to perform one of his pieces. “His work has an amazing sense of style and interesting movement vocabulary,” says Walsh.
