It was just 175 years ago that our glorious state declared independence from Mexico, sealing it with a victory at the Battle of San Jacinto. To celebrate the anniversary, Koelsch Gallery is presenting Dodransbicentennial, an exhibition named after this numerical milestone with work by Texan artists.

The works range from Ellen Frances Tuchmans collage of historical kitsch honoring the Yellow Rose of Texas; to Claire Cusacks sculpture made of barbed wire; to Camp Bosworths three-by-six-foot sculpture of a carved wooden gun inscribed with the phrase Mi Vida Loca, which folds out into a 50s-era bar; to Melinda Buies series of cartoonish cows painted on brightly colored backgrounds.
