CORE Artistic Director Sue Schroeder and dance-maker jhon r. stronks debut two pieces, The Point and The Moment Between during today's performance. (Schroeder choreographed The Point alone and worked with stronks, a former member of the company, on The Moment Between.)

“There’s a relationship between the two works; The Point is perhaps the call and The Moment Between is the response,” Schroeder tells us. “We’re really curious about a pure, empty space that exists between things. We’ve done a lot of work at losing a lot of the things that aren’t essential, trying to get to a really pure essence of movement.”

Schroeder says some things about CORE Performance Company have changed over the last 30 years, while others have not. “What you see now is added maturity, a sense of having grown up.
