You don’t have to wait until nightfall to start celebrating the patron saint of Ireland. Lucky’s Pub will be opening its doors bright and early for the St. Patrick’s Festival 2011. Starting at 6 a.m., there will be a hearty Irish breakfast, with bar service starting just an hour later. (Lucky’s offers a selection of more than 250 beers). Four DJs, some dozen bands and a troupe of bagpipers will provide live entertainment throughout the day, and leprechauns will be stopping by to share some green beer with the crowd and maybe even spout a few limericks. Celebrate the day in luxury and go for the $50 VIP package, which includes a private bar, free food and various other creature comforts. 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. 801 St. Emanuel.
