Oscar Wilde wrote, Sooner or later, we shall all have to pay for what we do. Thats certainly true for the characters in Wildes stage comedy An Ideal Husband. The story opens with a group of genteel and upstanding guests at a posh dinner party, each of them with a secret. The action covers a scant 24 hours, but by the time the guests gather together toward the end, each of them has been forced to confront a painful truth. While the subject matter honor vs. dishonor might not seem to be typical fodder for comedy, Wildes witty dialogue and satirical skewering of social hypocrisy give Husband humor with a real bite. 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Through April 16. University of St. Thomas, 3800 Montrose. For information, call 713-525-3520 or visit wwww.stthom.edu. $5 to $15.
