Hairspray

In the musical Hairspray, 1960s teenager Tracy Turnblad, a plus-size girl, loves to dance. When she lands a coveted spot on the local TV dance program, she’s thrilled — until she realizes that she can’t share the dance floor with her African-American friends because the show’s segregated. Ever the upstart, Tracy sets out to integrate the show and manages to get a cute boyfriend and fabulous hairdo in the process.
