All sorts of things happen in the kitchen. In the case of electro-dusted Houston folk-rockers Holy Fiction, the sound of Legos slamming down on Evan Lecker's kitchen table was all the inspiration the lead singer needed to remix his band's song "More Than Ever," a standout from last year's acclaimed LP Hours From It. "I ended up liking that sound more than any of the other snare options in the sample banks," Lecker says via Paper Thin Media. From there, Holy Fiction decided to give all of Hours a digital facelift; the result, Hours From Dance, features not only Legos but hairbrushes, silverware, table legs and "strange animal noises from various children's toys." "More Than Ever (Encircled Lovers in a Snowstorm Version)," which splits whatever difference there is between Tears for Fears and chillwave, is now streaming on Holy Fiction's Facebook page; all of Hours From Dance will be out June 7 while the band shops labels for the already-recorded proper Hours From It follow-up. After a stripped-down preview at Canned Acoustica Thursday (see above), remixed and unmixed tracks from both should show up Friday. Chris Gray
