Usually the movie comes first, then the trailer. Not so with Hobo with a Shotgun. Its the second film spawned by a fictional trailer from the minds of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The title pretty much gives away the plot, but the hobo in question is the good guy trying to fight off a corrupt police force and city government (think Walking Tall with a raggedy leading man).

The film starts off with a decapitation, works its way to a scene in which the word scum is carved into the hobos chest and builds to a final scene with an angry mob, a weaponized lawn mower and the heroic hobo committing suicide by cop in front of the entire town. Oh, and theres also a bit about a woman whose hands have been cut off using her exposed arm bone to stab a bad guy. Its gory, laugh-out-loud, over-the-top, ridiculously violent, trashy fun. 11:55 p.m. Friday and Saturday. River Oaks Theatre, 2009 West Gray.
