“The Texas Aesthetic IV: Contemporary Texas Regionalism”

Recently the Texas Biennial attempted to investigate the state of contemporary Texas art, but it was difficult to find a regional voice in the event, which — get a rope — was curated by a New Yorker. But the Lone Star State is the major character in the new show at William Reaves Fine Art. “The Texas Aesthetic IV: Contemporary Texas Regionalism” might be exaggerating the “contemporary” part, but when it comes to a regional aesthetic, this is as Texan as it gets.

The exhibit presents 16 of what the gallery curators consider the best artists currently working in the state.
