Theres no denying it. The Bayou City loves to eat. Year after year, Houston has consistently ranked among the top cities in America for dining out, and thanks to our fantastic array of local eateries, Houstonians have ranked among the most well-fed in the land. So, it should come as no surprise that one of the years most anticipated events is Houston Restaurant Weeks. (It used to be one week long, but with so many eateries to choose from, its since morphed into a month-long celebration of Houstons culinary landscape.) Its a simple setup: Diners can go to one of more than 130 restaurants in town, choosing from a two- or three-course lunch for just $20, or a three- or four-course dinner for $35. A portion of the money from each tab is donated to the Houston Food Bank. Included among the participating restaurants are standouts Ava Kitchen & Whiskey Bar, Brasserie 19 and Samba Grille. Menus from each of the restaurants are online. Call ahead to make reservations at the restaurant of your choice and mention Houston Restaurant Weeks. Various times. Through August 31.
