In press materials, CAMH Director Bill Arning notes that Ferver and Swanson explore very similar themes in their works, referring to the pairs exploration of polished beauty created from the chaos and destruction that humans encounter in everyday life. Although their approach is different, says Arning, Swanson uses objects and Ferver uses his body and language the two artists, recognizing kindred spirits, fuel each other. With Swanson contributing unrefined, organic sculpture pieces for the setting, Ferver enacts the story of a man as he moves from a simple, rural youth to a complex, urban adulthood.
