Thrill The World Houston
SSQQ Dance Studio 1431 W. 20th St., 713-869-0777 www.ssqqdance.com As part of a worldwide effort to simultaneously dance Michael Jackson's "Thriller" along with hundreds of cities on five continents, SSQQ Dance Studio will be hosting both a 9 a.m. and a 9 p.m. performance of the piece. Participants are advised to arrive at least one hour early to be included in the world record. There will be workshops held at 3 to 4 p.m. every Saturday until the event date. In addition to breaking a world record, the event is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. After the 9 a.m. performance, there will be a costume contest and a little dance party, best suited for adults.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30

The Concert Pub (North)

Dan Electro's Guitar Bar

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the show begins at 3 p.m. The cover is $10 at door. There will be plenty of prizes and drink specials throughout the day.

Moulin Rouge

Gray, www.beringomega.org Edward Sanchez and Américas River Oaks will host the 2011 Moulin Rouge All Hallows Eve celebration, a fundraising event that helps worthy nonprofit organizations within the Houston community. This year Bering Omega Community Services, which provides health care, specialized dental care and social services to men and women living with HIV or AIDS, has been chosen as the beneficiary. At 6:30 p.m., the event will kick off with a cocktail reception, after which there'll be a dinner catered by David Cordua at 7:30 p.m. and after-party cocktails and dancing at 9:30 p.m.. VIP tickets include access to the cocktail reception, dinner, and after-party. Single VIP tickets are $150. Couple VIP tickets are $275. Tickets to the Young Professionals After Party are $50.
