The Alamo Drafthouse is tapping into the popularity of craft brewing by hosting Houston Beer Week Beer Dinner and Brewer Q&A. Brewers from four companies — (512) Brewing Co., Karbach Brewing Co., No Label Brewing Co. and Southern Star Brewing Co. — will be on hand to present a variety of their beers. A menu of tasty bites from Executive Chef Gordon Bassett accompanies the tastings and discussion. These include a Southwestern-style rice cake stuffed with garlic and roasted peppers, then topped with pecan-smoked pork shoulder and a green chili crème, which will accompany No Label’s brews, as well as a bayou stew with spicy beef and okra, served with brewer’s bread, which will go along with Southern Star’s tastings.
