A Christmas Story

Nine-year-old Ralphie Parker is still on the hunt for his Red Ryder BB gun, despite his mother’s constant “You’ll shoot your eye out!” warnings. In the play A Christmas Story, presented here by Stage Right, Ralphie has much more than just his BB gun to worry about. At home, there’s the strangely erotic lamp shaped like a woman’s leg that his dad won, and the family’s furnace, which is on the verge of exploding. Outside, there’s Scut Farkas, the school bully who doesn’t think the holidays are any reason to give up on his campaign to terrorize Ralphie and his friends, and an iced-over lamppost that will freeze the tongue of anyone dumb enough to lick it (which includes all the local boys). See if Ralphie gets the BB gun he so desperately wants. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays. Through December 18. Crighton Theatre, 234 Main, Conroe. For information, call 936-441-7469 or visit www.stage-right.org. $12 to $17.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 2. Continues through Dec. 18, 2011
