A Tuna Christmas

If you missed them back in 2010, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, comedians and co-creators of the Greater Tuna series of sketch comedies, have returned to Galveston for a replay of their hilariously silly show A Tuna Christmas. In 2010 they changed up the original 1989 show, adding new costumes, new sets and new blocking. But the laughter stayed the same; Sears and Williams continue to delight their fans, playing all the nut-balls from Tuna, the third-smallest town in Texas.

The townsfolk have their panties in a collective wad over a holiday yard-decorating contest and the mysterious vandal who’s messing up everyone’s magnificent showcases (we use that term loosely). Fans will recognize Didi Snavely, owner of an enormous weapons store. There’s also dear old Vera Carp, that magnificent head of the Smut Snatchers. She’s won the contest for the last 13 years and is hoping for a rerun.

See who takes home the prize tonight at A Tuna Christmas at 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, 2 and 7 p.m .Sundays. Through December 23. The Grand 1894 Opera House, 2020 Post Office, Galveston. For information, call 409-765-1894 or visit www.thegrand.com. $13 to $50.
Mondays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 13. Continues through Dec. 23, 2011
