What better way to kick in the New Year than an evening of dancing to a Houston institution, the Allen Oldies Band. Lifelong Houstonian Allen Hill and his gang do 'em right, reaching back to the early days of rock and roll to breathe new life into the monster hits and hitmakers like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis. Long known as a party machine, the Oldies do justice to the classics, going about their work with a religious fervor appropriate for a country church; when they play "Long Tall Sally," she's in the room. There's no cover charge for this one, so bring your own party favors and your best dancing shoes.
