Hombre blanco is correct. As a kid growing up in Long Beach on Junipero Ave, I learned to say it "juan-e-pear-o" and only if you wear raised in that city would you say it that way. I never knew why and even until today I can't defend myself or explain why it is pronounced this way. Outsider, So Cal residents ourside of LB like yourself, would always correct me and say they've never hear it that way before. Some would say it is June-e-pear-o and some would say it is "Who-nip-pe-row". I am beginning to thinking that maybe it is a Long Beach accento . In Pennsylvania, Lancaster, PA is "lank-guess-ster" and in Lancaster, CA it is Lan-cast-ster. Oh English, por que eres tan inconsistente?
