Taylor Stevens’s new thriller The Innocent is the story of 13-year-old Hannah. For the last eight years, she’s been one of The Chosen, a religious cult that has hidden her from her family, spiriting her from one country to another. Now adult survivors who left the cult have found Hannah in Argentina, and they’ve enlisted the help of Vanessa Michael Munroe to rescue her. But is it a rescue, or just another cult kidnapping? Munroe, an information dealer who’s all-around good, doesn’t trust the other rescuers. Of course, they don’t really trust her either, which means Hannah’s fate is in the hands of people who may all have ulterior motives.
