If the departed White Stripes made music for indie-rock couples to listen to while they went antiquing, then the Kills make music for those same couples to break up to, loudly, until their neighbors call the cops. The fearsome duo, vocalist/guitarist Alison Mosshart and sometime drummer/guitarist/vocalist Jamie Hince, released Blood Pressures just last April to wide acclaim, from critics and their adoring black-clad audience. The album was their first since 2008's caffeinated Midnight Boom. In the interim, Mosshart co-fronted Jack White's goth-garage project The Dead Weather and Hince married '90s supermodel Kate Moss in a lavish, hip wedding. Live, the former pop-punk front woman Mosshart is a ferocious ball of mass with a thatch of jet-black hair and feral energy, with Hince melting into his instrument of choice. Those looking for the definitive Kills album are encouraged to look into 2005's No Wow, all PJ Harvey snarl and electro-throb.
