Let’s get it out of the way right up front: Yes, Ravi Coltrane is the son of saxophonist John Coltrane and pianist Alice Coltrane. Yes, they were both legendary musicians. Yes, by rights, the younger Coltrane could just ride their coattails to fame and fortune. And no, he hasn’t.
