Venerable southwest Houston tonk Firehouse Saloon hosts six "Texas music" acts for an acoustic showcase similar to KIKK-FM's Ten Man Jam series. All of the acts are currently enjoying success on the circuit. With ties going back to the early Dixie Chicks, intelligent songwriter Susan Gibson is, in some respects, the elder stateswoman of this grouping but, with his long connection to Pat Green, Wilkins also qualifies as one of the graybeards. Eady, Kennedy and Grider are all road dogs who grind it out night in, night out on the Ballcap Nation scene. Meanwhile, the Trishas, a four-woman outfit led by former Gougers songstress Jamie Wilson, have been together less than two years and just released their first mini-album, but they'll probably end up being the biggest draw down the road if they keep it together. According to Firehouse management, this show will be in two parts, with three acts doing the first two hours, and the other three to follow in in-the-round style.
