Also on the program is Mozart’s Serenade No. 10 for 13 winds, Gran Partita, which pulses with quiet dignity and is near-hypnotic, as well as Stravinsky’s Apollon Musagète. Scored for strings by an undisputed master of early 20th century music, Apollon was based around the ascendance of Apollo, the Greek god of music, light, and leader of the Muses who bestowed inspiration to artists. Stravinsky’s languid, ethereal music perfectly captures the god's story of Apollo. 8 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Jones Hall, 615 Louisiana.
