Yes, we are now on the 28th Buzzfest in Houston history, making us wonder what 94.5 FM could have up its inked sleeves for the 30th edition next spring. The long-running biannual bash always manages to put up a solid lineup, even if the hipster kids cringe at the thought of their beloved MuteMath and Band of Skulls keeping company with the likes of KoRn and Evanescence. The hook to these fests is as much bang for your buck as possible, and with the added pleasure of people-watching for nearly a whole 12 hours, you can't ask for a better value. Late afternoon on the main stage, be sure to check out Cage the Elephant, whose bridging of the gap between pure pop crunch and vintage mopey grunge madness makes a great live show.
