More About

The Houston Children’s Museum takes having fun extremely seriously, which is why for seven days a week during the summer, the museum is open for the Summer of Fun. This week brings Celebrate Mindfest, a specially designed exhibit from the MIT Media Laboratory that explores how new technologies change the way we create and learn. It’s a potent mixture of science and art that will spark the imaginations of young inventors. Activities include painting with light sources, roller coaster physics, building giant pasta structures, explaining the nature of waves using tuning forks and water, creating LED jewelry that really lights up, and chromatography. Bring a plastic bottle to recycle and receive $1 off your admission. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. Celebrate Mindfest runs August 2 through 8.
