A Cat in Paris

You don't hear the likes of Billie Holiday on the soundtracks of many animated films, but that's part of what makes A Cat in Paris so special. An homage to American gangster flicks that's done in a captivating noir style, Cat follows feline charmer Dino. During the day, he lives a relatively normal life with Zoé, a lonely little girl whose mother is a detective with the Paris police. But by night, Dino works with Nico, a talented cat burglar who sweeps across rooftops and slinks through alleyways as he robs wealthy Parisians. Zoé's mother is on a manhunt for Victor Costa, a notorious criminal; she doesn’t know that he’s got plans to kidnap Zoé as a way to get her off his trail. Only Dino and Nico can help Zoé once Costa has her in his grip. Marcia Gay Harden, Anjelica Huston and Matthew Modine dubbed the English-language version of this 2010 French film by Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol.
