Men have Viagra, women have...kissing? That's what former journalist Anne Rodgers says in her new book Kiss and Tell: Secrets of Sexual Desire from Women 15 to 97. When Rodgers wanted to find out what women like sexually, when and how they like it, she went to the experts - women themselves. After teaming up with Maureen Whelihan, a gynecologist and founder of the Center for Sexual Health & Education, Rodgers surveyed some 1,300 women and conducted in-depth interviews with 100 of them. The result is Kiss and Tell, an honest and frank look at women's sexuality. The book is filled with anecdotal information about participants' real-life -experiences, such as the 84-year-old who reports she had her first orgasm at the age of 82. Kiss and Tell also cites some scientific research, including one study that reports that kissing increases sexual desire in women (men pass testosterone to their partners through their saliva during kissing, and the hormone triggers heightened desire in women). See what other sexual tidbits Rodgers has to share during today's reading-and-signing session.
