More About

Let’s be honest: If it weren’t for Bugs Bunny, a lot of us wouldn’t have a clue about The Barber of Seville. The soundtracks to Looney Tunes musical shorts introduced countless cartoon fans to classical music. The Houston Symphony brings the best of those shorts to the big screen accompanied by a live orchestra in Bugs Bunny at the Symphony. Conducted and created by Emmy Award winner George Daugherty, the program includes such iconic cartoons as The Rabbit of Seville and What’s Opera, Doc? — that’s Kill the Wabbit to some of you — but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The 20th anniversary of the concert series also features appearances by other Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera characters, such as Scooby-Doo and the Flintstones. 8:30 p.m. Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins Drive. For information, call 281-363-3300 or visit www.woodlandscenter.org. Free to $15.
