Best-selling novelists C.J. Box and Paul Doiron, both with new titles being released by Minotaur, sign and discuss their latest books today at Murder by the Book. Box, the author of the popular Joe Pickett series, signs his new stand-alone thriller, The Highway, in which Cody Hoyt, a former police officer and current drunk, takes on the task of tracking down two women who disappeared on a long, lonely stretch of road. He retraces their steps and discovers that they weren't the first women to vanish from the area. Hoyt, with lots of his own demons to fight, might have stumbled onto a mass murderer's killing ground. But does he have enough left in him to follow the case through to the end? Or will he squander this last chance at redemption?
Doiron presents the wonderfully titled Massacre Pond, which features game warden Mike Bowditch. What starts off as the simple mutilation of some wild game quickly evolves into something much more sinister — and bizarre.
