More About

The devil is in the details, and in the play The Screwtape Letters, he’s onstage as well. Based on the C.S. Lewis novel of the same name, Screwtape is both provocative and funny. A chronicle of spiritual warfare told from a demon’s point of view, the show features Max McLean as His Abysmal Sublimity Screwtape, who happens to be Satan’s top psychiatrist. Along with his demon secretary Toadpipe, Screwtape is training an apprentice demon, Wormwood, as a tempter tasked with seducing humans down the path to hell. The show stopped in Houston on its last tour and played to sold-out houses. Don’t miss this chance to see the devil in action. 8 p.m. Friday, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday. Wortham Center, 501 Texas.
Fri., Aug. 10, 8 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 11, 4 & 8 p.m., 2012
