Christopher Titus

Shrinks treat family dysfunction; Christopher Titus celebrates it. No stand-up comic alive today is better able to depict the absurdity of modern home life and turn it into a laugh-out-loud exploration of individuality and survival. You’d expect nothing less from a man who claims his parents’ divorce settlement involved a bar tab. His new show, Scarred for Life, is an exuberant look at what it’s like to be a loser, culminating in a 20-minute monologue about a very un-loser moment in his life, when Titus met Bruce Springsteen.

Titus is a big fan of Houston. “If you have not been to the Houston Improv, it is like a theater built by aliens. Had a great time last year. Looking forward to it,” he recently posted on Facebook. 8 p.m Thursday, 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Improv Comedy Club, 7620 Katy Freeway.
