''Daryl Thetford: Seven Questions''

Whether you’re reading this in print or online, you are surrounded by information. Look left, and you’ll see a graphic asking how you plan to spend your evening out. Look right, and another will question your feelings on starving children. This struggle with constant data is the theme of photographer Daryl Thetford’s exhibit at the Jung Center of Houston, ''7 Questions.'' His work uses collage to piece together the relentless bombardment of data and to explore the human mind’s battle to process it and incorporate it into our own stories. After transferring high-resolution film images of stop signs, trains, graffiti, newspaper boxes and more into a digital medium, he arranges as few as ten and as many as 50 of the pieces in order to portray our modern struggle to define ourselves amid the screaming barrage of input that must be processed.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 1. Continues through Sept. 28, 2012
