Last year was a stellar season for the Dominic Walsh Dance Theater. It was the company’s tenth anniversary, and DWDT pulled out all the stops to celebrate, including the world premiere of Camille Claudel. The company kicks off the new season with Fall for Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, a concert that features a reprise of the piece. A tribute to the French artist who significantly influenced the work of Auguste Rodin, the 45-minute narrative work chronicles Claudel’s tumultuous life, including a forced confinement in an asylum by her family. Her emotive, tormented sculptures are the perfect source material for Walsh’s brand of cathartic and visually ravishing contemporary ballet. The show’s impeccable creative team includes sets by Libbie Masterson, costumes by company dancer Domenico Luciano and a soundscape by composer Kinley Lange.
