Ah, film noir, a genre where men are tough and most often monosyllabic while women are smart, strong and usually dangerous. They don't get much more dangerous than Rita Hayworth's Gilda, the sexy siren seen today in Femme Fatales, The Women of Film Noir — Gilda. Charles Vidor's 1946 drama centers on the struggle between a gambler (played by Glenn Ford) and a casino boss who are both in love with the boss's beautiful, reckless wife. Hayworth is a hurricane poured into an evening dress in Gilda. It's a must-see performance for film noir fans.
