Hitchcock-Fest

The Houston Film Critics Society gloriously celebrates cinema master Alfred Hitchcock with Hitchcock-Fest, an entire day of movie mayhem. To top it off, it's all free! First on the schedule is 1954's Rear Window, Hitch's sleekly sly look at voyeurism in which a convalescing photographer (James Stewart) suspects his apartment complex neighbor of butchering his wife and burying her head in the garden courtyard. Since he's laid up, the photographer's girlfriend (a radiantly glamorous Grace Kelly) breaks into the man's apartment to gather evidence. Then it's the creepy Psycho (1960), shivery when Janet Leigh takes her infamous shower and twitchy whenever Anthony Perkins shows up in his signature role as Norman Bates.

More About

You've already seen both those films? Well, here's one you haven't: Hitchcock, director Sacha Gervasi's biopic about the making of Psycho, which is getting a special advance screening. Anthony Hopkins nails the accent and sardonic humor as Hitchcock Helen Mirren fumes as his long-suffering wife, Alma and Scarlett Johansson gets all wet as Janet Leigh, the woman in the shower.
