Fans might know comedian Jeff Garcia best for his distinctive voice work in animated films like Barnyard, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Rio. But put Garcia on stage, and his stand-up roots start showing. Channeling his days as a Los Angeles street kid, he has a sharp, sarcastic edge that cuts right to the quick. Audience members always figure prominently in his routine. "What’s your name, dawg? Don? Isn’t that a verb? It just 'donned' on me. All white guys have verb names: Chip, Chuck, Bob, Neil, Skip, Chase, Mark, Rob." Among his favorite riffs is a bit about how hard it is to get away with smoking weed now that the DARE program has turned his kids into little narcs. 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The Improv, 7620 Katy Freeway. For in-formation, call 713-333-8800 or visit www.improvhouston.com. $15 to $17.
