What do you get when you cross Harry Potter with a Wookie from Star Wars? You get Potterwookie, or ''Hairy'' for short. Now Houstonians are getting the chance to meet Hairy’s creator and illustrator, Obert Skye — author of the popular Leven Thumps series, the Pillage trilogy, the Beyond Foo series and the Creature from My Closet series — when he discusses and signs his recent children’s book, Potterwookie, at Blue Willow Bookshop. Hailing from the Creature from My Closet universe, Hairy pops out of the closet of protagonist Rob, a 12-year-old underachiever with better things to do than read. Since Rob has dumped the books his parents give him in a pile at the bottom of his closet, he’s created the perfect environment for the books’ characters to spring off the pages as they’re combined into new, fascinating caricatures.
