Paul Mooney

African-American comic Paul Mooney used to write for Good Times and Sanford and Son back in the day. Now the 71-year-old is the reigning godfather of politically incorrect, filter-free comedy. Translation: Mooney's contemporary material is considerably more explosive than J.J. Evan's ''Dyn-o-mite!'' In one bit, Mooney's Negrodamus character from Comedy Central's Chappelle Show, queries, ''Why was President Bush convinced there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?'' Pause. ''Because he has the receipt.'' If Bush fans leaves in a huff, that's all right with Mooney. ''Some nights I'm not happy until I provoke a walkout,'' he taunts. ''That's when I find my true audience.''
