Star Trek: The Next Generation Anniversary

It’s hard to believe that Star Trek: The Next Generation is 25 years old, but it really has been a quarter of a century since Captain Picard first said, “Make it so,” and launched a new crew out into space. Trek fans can celebrate this anniversary in unison all across the country in a broadcast by NCM/Fathom. In addition to never-before-seen interviews with cast and crew, and a look at the restoration of season one, two of the most iconic episodes will be shown in their entirety on big screens across the country. “Where No One Has Gone Before” follows the Enterprise crew as a mysterious alien hijacks its ship and propels it to the furthest reaches of space to test whether humanity is ready to accept the power of channeling pure thought into reality. Then, “Datalore” reveals the origin of the android Data as his brother automaton impersonates him in order to offer the crew as a sacrifice to a destructive crystalline entity. Fun, fun stuff. 7 p.m. Various theaters.
