The Black Space

What does it mean to truly forgive? The answer is as complicated as the question, but Frame Dance Productions tackles the topic head-on in The Black Space, a multimedia installation that combines movement, dance-on-film and an original soundtrack. Staged at the Spacetaker Gallery at Fresh Arts, the piece investigates the effects of both forgiveness and of holding onto the pain that others have caused us. Like the best of Frame Dance Productions’ work, The Black Space is as emotional as it is engaging.

More About

Keeping with the company’s mission “to create innovative and vulnerable works,” founder and director Lydia Hance has created a completely interactive experience. Think less of a dance concert onstage and more of an exhibit that can be enjoyed in various ways. In the span of an hour, patrons can explore the space and interact with the dancers and projections for an individual experience meant to leave participants moved and introspective. A reception with artists follows each show.
