The concert, being presented by the Houston Friends of Chamber Music, features a program that includes Franz Schubert's Quartettsatz, Philip Glass's String Quartet No. 5 and Ludwig van Beethoven's ''Razumovsky'' String Quartet in F Major, Op. 59, No. 1. ''It should be a really terrific program,'' Fedkenheuer says. ''We're very much looking forward to it. It's very positive; it's upbeat.''
Fedkenheuer says Glass's string quartet is often an audience favorite. ''There's a lot of fear about Philip Glass, about modern music, and the one thing that I can say about this piece is that every time we have played it, it's the piece that the audience goes home singing.''
