''Tim Kerr''

Musician and artist Tim Kerr, born just south of Galveston, has made a name for himself as a brilliant artist in multiple mediums. He’ll be bringing Houston some of his pop-art portraits this week. Kerr works with cardboard, wood, old-school maps and chalkboards, painting over them with acrylics, pens and magic markers to create bright, vibrant examinations of human faces and forms.

More About

“I strongly believe that there are no rules when it comes to self-expression, and the thread runs through the music, visual and life in general. It’s all coming from the same place,” he told us via e-mail. “I paint people that have influenced me through words, music and actions. Jim Thorpe, Claudette Colvin, John Coltrane...It’s pretty much all over the map.”
Mondays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 3. Continues through Oct. 18, 2012
