We live at a special time in history when some of classic country's most talented voices are still making the touring rounds. Hell, Merle Haggard and Ray Price come through Houston every few months, and Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride recently made stops in the Bayou City area. Thursday night, the Stafford Centre, that cozy roots-friendly venue just a hop, skip and a jump down Highway 59, welcomes Don Williams and his cavalcade of easygoing hits like "I Believe in You," "Tulsa Time," "You're My Best Friend" and "It Must Be Love." The Portland, Texas, native seems to be taking his time with aging, too, as the gentle giant still looks the way he did in the early '80s — albeit with more snow in his beard.
