Looking back at that self-titled LP, it's hard to understand why Faster Pussycat's 1987 debut doesn't get mentioned in the same breath as similar titles of the era. It was surely as sleazy and lowdown as Mötley Crüe's Girls, Girls, Girls but rarely gets as much play save for a few spins on hair-metal satellite radio or at high-school reunions. But Thursday night, the band comes to north Houston with fellow spandexed late-'80s time-travelers Pretty Boy Floyd ("Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz"), the Bulletboys ("Smooth Up In Ya") and metal perfectionists Lillian Axe. Local promoter John Escamilla's Jetspeed Entertainment has been bringing plenty of your hirsute heroes to these parts, recently also booking Warrant at Concert Pub North, and he's working on plenty more in the future. "I hope to get them noticed more for that than being just a tribute-act venue," he says.
