I'm with up to the last line. MFA programs are full of people who DON'T writes their experiences or truths. They're looking to cash in on arty-angst and literary fashions but never get the idea that "it" has to come from inside with the author's ear for reality. Other wise it's paint-by-numbers, prose for paychecks. Common and mundane. Far from Ms. Satrapi's work. Good stuff, Mr. Erickson.
