More About

Kelly Clarkson has managed to last a solid decade in the fickle, feverish pop world without ever really "falling off" — but then, good Texas girls are supposed to be tough, with a big-ass voice to match. The Fort Worth native moved back to her hometown about as soon as the mushroom cloud of fame that came with winning the first season of American Idol died down enough to let her. Hard to believe it's been ten years, because Clarkson's career has barely missed a beat ever since. Her 2004 breakthrough Breakaway became one of the biggest blockbusters of the 2000s, spawning a clutch of cross-generational anthems including "Since U Been Gone," "Because of You," "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Walk Away." After a minor hiccup on 2007's moody My December, Clarkson came back hard and resolute on 2009's All I Ever Wanted ("I Do Not Hook Up") and carried that momentum into last year's Stronger, another hit that may have telegraphed Clarkson's next crossover move in its smash duet with country hunk Jason Aldean, "Don't You Want to Stay."
