BRB was a hub of LUEY weekend, a four-day series of social events staged by the Houston Council of Clubs that stands for "Let Us Entertain You." According to the LUEY Web site, the weekend was started in 1971 by motorcycle club the Texas Riders as a gesture of appreciation and means to "keep the party going" for people returning from Mardi Gras.

Such happenings helped spread BRB's reputation far and wide, and it was even named "Best Dance Club" in the Houston Press's 2009 Best of Houston® issue.
