Eden: A Pride Girl Party

Hey, ladies! It's time to get funky. Swing by The Usual for the first-ever Pride event dedicated to the female gender. Just because this joint was voted the Houston Press's Best Women's Bar in 2012 doesn't mean the gentlemen aren't also welcome to join in the fun. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to an area women's organization. Free.

"Rainbow on the Green"

The citywide celebration spills onto the lush grass of downtown's Discovery Green. Bring your blanket and a picnic basket and enjoy the stellar lineup of entertainment, including Britney Spears impressionist Derrick Barry, chart-topping singer Crystal Waters and hit-making producer/ DJ Chris Cox. Mix 96.5 morning host Blake Hayes will emcee this star-studded event. 7:30 p.m. Free.

"REEL Pride: presents Breaking Through"

Houston Pride Band Rehearsals

Before you watch them storm the Houston Pride Parade, take in a rehearsal by Houston's unofficial LGBT community band; they've been together for close to three decades now! Merry Gay Consultants Launch Party

The Merry Gay Consultants are opening their virtual doors with a massive launch party packed with more goings-on than you'll know what to do with. The night will feature two stand-up comedians, Frank Lotti and Jess Wood from New York, as well as a live Broadway revue of some of your favorite musicals. Wait, there's more. You can also get your firefighter on with a pole-dance competition or find yourself the star of a new commercial filming that night. Pride Superstar Competition: Finale

This year's singing competition started out with 11 vocalists, and after several rounds of elimination, it all comes down to tonight. For seven years running, Pride has sponsored this singing competition that has showcased some of the brightest LGBT talents in Houston. Join the judges and host Blake Hayes, from Mix 96.5 FM, in determining who'll take home the top prize. Your vote counts! 9:30 p.m.-­mid­night. Free.

Huge Weekend Kick-Off Party
