Eden: A Pride Girl Party

Hey, ladies! It's time to get funky. Swing by The Usual for the first-ever Pride event dedicated to the female gender. Just because this joint was voted the Houston Press's Best Women's Bar in 2012 doesn't mean the gentlemen aren't also welcome to join in the fun. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to an area women's organization. Free.

"Rainbow on the Green"

Pride Superstar Competition: Finale

For seven years running, Pride has sponsored this singing competition that has showcased some of the brightest LGBT talents in Houston. Last year, Pride introduced Wonderland, a circuit party to end all circuit parties, complete with a sexy Alice in Wonderland theme. It was such a huge success that they've brought it back this year with even more entertainment. Cirque Aerialist performances by Joshua Dean and Ben Franklin of Aerial Arts NYC will dazzle the crowd, while DJ Brett Henrichsen spins the beats. Get to the festival early because it's going to be packed! The celebration starts promptly at 1 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. Montrose's Westheimer will be lined with booths of proud sponsors out to have a good time and lots of family fun. This year's sponsors include Bud Light, Hot 95.7, KRBE 104.1, South Beach Night Club, OutSmart Magazine, Deeter Mazda, Gay Yellow Pages, Montrose Star, Noize Magazine, Texas Crown Whiskey, Houston Dynamo, Walgreens, Green Mountain Energy, My Gay Houston, Svedka Vodka, Kroger, Houston Fertility Institute and Microsoft. Find a viewing spot at one of the multiple stages for free entertainment, including the contest to choose the winner of Pride Houston. Bring cash, since most vendors won't accept credit cards, but know that there'll be ATMs on hand if you overspend, which is totally fine. It's Pride!

Pride Parade

Let the celebration begin! The Parade, which officially begins at 8 p.m., slightly earlier this year than previously, is held along West­heimer between Dunlavy and Montrose. Join the 100-plus organizations and businesses that have decked out their floats to show their LGBT support this year. This is one of Houston's biggest parades as well as one of the largest Pride parades in this part of the country. If you can make it there by 7:30 p.m., you'll be able to catch the Parade pre-show, which takes place on Westheimer at Waugh. PrideHouston's Official After Pride Parade Party

Head over to Pride's official after party at South Beach; it's going to be crazy. Enjoy blasting beats, flowing cocktails and beautiful people while you dance the night away. A word to the wise: Do not stare too long at South Beach's Full Color Water Cooled Matrix Laser Light Show, which will be vibrantly dazzling you overhead; everyone will know you're a tourist. 10 p.m.-3 a.m. Tickets: Visit South Beach's Web site.
